INSIDE THE 18: Red Bulls Take on Supporter’s Shield Winners in Ohio


The current Supporter’s Shield holders, FC Cincinnati, host the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night at TQL Stadium.

Carlos Coronel starts in goal for New York, while John Tolkin, Sean Nealis, Andrés Reyes and Kyle Duncan start along the back line.

The Red Bulls have posted a 2-0-1 mark in three career matches in Cincinnati since FC Cincinnati joined MLS in 2019.

Luquinhas, Cameron Harper, Daniel Edelman and Frankie Amaya work the midfield. Elias Manoel and Tom Barlow start up top for New York.

Head Coach Troy Lesesne will have Cory Burke, Julian Hall, Jorge Cabezas Hurtado, Wiki Carmona, Omir Fernandez, Peter Stroud, Dru Yearwood and Dylan Nealis available off the bench. Ryan Meara will be the backup goalkeeper.

Hassan Ndam is sidelined due to his second yellow card in RBNY's last match.

Fernandez has recorded two career goals against FC Cincinnati in his career, including scoring the lone goal for New York in the latest match between the two clubs.
