Juan Agudelo has been called up to U.S. U-20 National Team

Juan Agudelo

New York Red Bulls forward Juan Agudelo has been named by head coach Thomas Rongen to the U20 USMNT side that will participate in the Torneo de las Americas in Kennesaw, Ga., from Nov. 21-29. The U.S. will face Colombia on Nov. 26 and Mexico on Nov. 28 in the three-team round robin tournament held at the Kennesaw State Soccer Stadium.

Agudelo, a Home Grown signing out of the New York Red Bull Academy, became the fourth youngest player in MLS history to start a playoff match when he was paired with Juan Pablo Angel in the away leg of New York’s Eastern Conference Semifinal series with San Jose Earthquakes, and became the youngest New York player to record a playoff assist when his cross was nodded home by Angel in the home leg against the Quakes.

The Barnegat, N.J. native is one of seven MLS players to be named to the team.
