Search for First Back-to-Back Wins of 2020

This Saturday, New York will have an opportunity to grab its first back-to-back wins of 2020.

In D.C., Aaron Long recorded his first goal of 2020 and tied Steve Jolley for the franchise lead for most goals by a defender with seven, while Kaku moved into New York’s Top-10 all-time assists list, tying Clint Mathis with 23.

Building from last weekend’s performance should boost the Red Bulls’ winning chances against Cincinnati.

Pursue Another Shutout

So far this season, the Red Bulls have achieved three shutouts -- 1-0 vs. Atlanta United, 1-0 vs. NYCFC and 2-0 vs. D.C. United.

Against D.C., Ryan Meara and David Jensen combined for five saves.

“I think we have no shortage of talented center backs on this team and that’s the one position that I think we are extremely deep in, said Long after last weekend’s victory. “Today, it was us three and I agree with you, it was a flawless performance from the three of us. We were very comfortable. I think that week of rest kind of helped us back there. There was a lot of shifting involved but in the run of play I don’t think we gave up much at all. It was a good performance and I’m happy with the backline.”

Since the MLS is Back Tournament, FC Cincy Hasn’t Won

The last match between New York and Cincinnati happened in the MLS is Back Tournament, and Jaap Stam’s side took a 2-0 win.

However since then, FC Cincy hasn’t won a match. Its last six results are -- 0-0 vs. D.C. United, 3-0 loss vs. Chicago Fire FC, 0-0 vs. Columbus Crew SC, 0-0 vs. Chicago Fire FC, 3-0 loss vs. Columbus Crew SC and 2-1 loss vs. NYCFC.
