This Sunday the New York Red Bulls visit Chicago Fire FC at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m ET.

Here are the Keys to the Game, presented by TriHonda Dealers:

In Chicago, Good Opportunity to Capture Second Away Win

The Red Bulls are heading to Chicago sitting in ninth place, five points ahead the Fire. New York’s last win happened against Orlando City at Exploria Stadium, that win on July 3 also marked the team’s first away of the season.

Against Chicago, the Red Bulls will have an opportunity to add a second win and return to their winning ways.

After the scoreless draw against FC Cincy, Tom Edwards shared some thoughts on the team’s overall performance.

“It just comes down to confidence and hunger and if the strikers, obviously, they will be disappointed tonight and obviously, they want to score goals and that is what they are here to do, so they will be looking to get ready for the next game to bounce back and try to score more goals,” said Edwards. “We know that our strikers have that in them, our 10s and our eights, we all know they have got the quality for that, so I’m sure the time will come when the goals start rolling again, but for now, we will take the clean sheet and we will move on from there.”

Last season in their visit to Soldier Field, the Red Bulls got a 2-2 draw.

Important Road Trips Coming Up

The only two away games this month will be back-to-back, and the first stop will be Chicago, followed by another trip to Canada to visit CF Montréal.

After the two road games, Red Bulls return home to host Columbus Crew SC, NYCFC and Chicago.

New York lost 1-0 in their last road game against DC United.

Gerhard Struber’s team is currently four points off eight place (Montréal) and five points off seventh place (Columbus).

New York is scheduled to meet these direct opponents in the upcoming games, making them vital opportunities to grab three points and climb the standings.

Chicago Haven’t Won in Their Last Five Matches

Just as New York, Chicago has also struggled to catch a positive string of results. Their last win happened on July 7, a 3-1 win over Orlando City.

Their 3-1 win was followed by a 5-1 loss against Nashville.

Chicago’s last two results are a 1-1 draw against Philly and a scoreless draw against NYCFC.

Their leading goalscorers this season are Ignacio Aliseda and Luka Stojanovic with three goals.
