HARRISON, N.J. (May 19, 2016) - The New York Red Bulls make the short trip to Yankee Stadium on Saturday for the first meeting of the season with New York City FC. The first 2016 meeting of the New York Derby kicks off at 3 p.m. on FOX as part of MLS Heineken Rivalry Week.


The match features two of the hottest teams in MLS, as the Red Bulls 3-1-1 in their last five, face an NYC FC side that is undefeated in five straight (3 W, 2 D).


Red Bulls Radio will provide English and Spanish coverage of the match, beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Countdown to Kickoff. Matt Harmon will host the pregame show, and will be joined by Steve Jolley for the English coverage of the match. Ernesto Motta brings Spanish play-by-play to Red Bulls Radio beginning at 3 p.m.


The Red Bulls have overcome a slow start with recent results, but enter with an 0-5-1 record on the road.


Mike Grella leads New York with four goals after scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena. Lloyd Sam and Bradley Wright-Phillips picked up assists on the play.


Wright-Phillips leads all players in scoring in the New York Derby, having netted four times in three games against New York City FC last season. Wright-Phillips has three goals and an assist for the Red Bulls this season.


Sacha Kljestan leads all of MLS with six assists entering the weekend, and has contributed two goals as well. New York is 3-1-1 when Kljestan gets on the scoresheet this season.


Luis Robles got his second shutout of the season on Wednesday night, and tied Chris Klein’s MLS record with his 118thconsecutive regular season start.


The Red Bulls took all three meetings of the New York Derby last season, two at Red Bull Arena, and a 3-1 win at Yankee Stadium on June 28. Wright-Phillips, Chris Duvall and Matt Miazga all scored in that match.


New York City enters at 4-3-5 after a midweek draw at Toronto. NYC FC is just 1-1-4 at home this season. David Villa leads NYC FC with eight goals on the season.


After Saturday, the Red Bulls host Toronto FC on Saturday, May 28 before the Copa America Centenario break. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
