The New York Red Bulls (6-9-8, 26 pts.) face off against New England Revolution (12-4-7, 43 pts.) in their first group stage match of the 2023 Leagues Cup at Red Bull Arena. This will be the 96th overall meeting across all competitions between New York and New England, with the Revolution leading the series with a 40-35-25 mark. The Red Bulls defeated New England in their only matchup this season with a 2-1 victory at Red Bull Arena on July 8. Midfielder Wiki Carmona scored the game-winning goal in the match and his first of the season. Carmona has scored two-career MLS goals, both against New England.

New York Red Bulls midfielder Frankie Amaya scored his fourth MLS goal of the season in the club’s latest match. In his last five matches, Amaya has recorded four goals and two assists. The former UCLA midfielder scored in the win against New England on July 8 and has tallied two career assists against the Revolution.

Following Saturday’s match, New York will welcome Atletico San Luis to Red Bull Arena for the first-time ever in their second group stage match of the 2023 Leagues Cup.
