HARRISON, N.J. (July 29, 2016) - The New York Red Bulls are on the road this weekend for a Sunday night matchup with the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., with coverage on MSG, MSG GO and Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
Coverage on MSG begins at 6:30 p.m. with Red Bulls Game Night. Red Bulls Radio also kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon. Harmon will call the match in English while Ernesto Motta provides Spanish play-by-play for Red Bulls Radio and MSG (using SAP function) beginning at 7 p.m.
The Red Bulls enter the weekend unbeaten in four games after last week's 4-1 win over New York City FC. The Red Bulls are 9-9-4 on the season and sit just two points behind first-place New York City FC, who host league-leading Colorado on Saturday.
Sacha Kljestan rejoined the Red Bulls on Friday after playing 40 minutes with the MLS All-Stars on Thursday night against Arsenal FC. Kljestan was instrumental in the All-Stars' goal, and has three goals and two assists over his last two MLS regular season games.
Kljestan has five goals and a league-leading 12 assists this season, including setting up the first two goals last weekend in the New York Derby. Bradley Wright-Phillips was on the end of one of those, his first of two on the day. Wright-Phillips leads New York with 11 goals on the season, good for third-most in MLS.
Wright-Phillips kept up his success against NYC FC, with eight goals in six games against. The forward faces another team he has had success against this weekend, as he has five career goals and an assist in seven games against the Fire.
It will be New York's first trip to Chicago since hoisting the Supporters' Shield on the final day of the 2015 regular season. That win was the first in 15 trips to Chicago for the Red Bulls. New York is 4-15-7 all-time at Chicago.
The Fire enter at 4-10-5 on the season, with a 4-2-3 record at home. The teams have met once so far this season, with the Red Bulls taking a 1-0 victory at home on May 18 behind a goal from Mike Grella.
The Red Bulls are next home to host Antigua Guatemala FC on Wednesday, August 3 in the opening match of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League group stage.
