HARRISON, N.J. (May 7, 2022) – New York Red Bulls II (1-6-1, 4 points) return home to face Sacramento Republic FC (3-2-3, 12 points) on Sunday, May 8. Kickoff at MSU Soccer Park is set for 1:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.

New York and Sacramento will meet for the second time in their history, with Sacramento taking the only prior match, 3-1, on July 31, 2021, at Heart Health Park. Jeremy Rafanello scored New York’s goal in the second half, one of his three from outside the box in his career.

Red Bulls II will look to bounce back following a 2-0 loss to Detroit City on Saturday, April 30. Lucas Monzón, Cameron Harper, and Wiki Carmona all made their season debuts in the match.

Sacramento enters the match having earned a result in five of their last six matches, currently sitting sixth in the Western Conference table. They are led by Douglas Martínez and Rodrigo López, who lead the team with two goals each. Former Red Bulls II forward Luther Archimède will make his return to MSU Soccer Park for the first time as a member of an opposing team. He scored three goals and tallied an assist over 14 appearances last season with New York.

The match marks the second time New York will play on Mother’s Day, with the first coming in 2017 against Los Angeles Galaxy II. It also marks the fourth match in club history against a West Coast club.

Following the match, Red Bulls II will play the first of two matches away from home, with the first coming on Saturday, May 14, at Hartford Athletic. Kickoff from Trinity Health Stadium is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET, with coverage available on ESPN+.
