HARRISON, N.J. (May 21, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II remain on the road to face Charleston Battery at Patriots Point on Sunday, May 23, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. ET. Coverage will be available on ESPN+.

NYRB II earned their first win of the season on Tuesday, May 18 against Loudoun United FC. Forward Omar Sowe scored his first goal of the season, with Jeremy Rafanello earning his second assist. Captain Mandela Egbo converted his second penalty of the year to secure the victory.

NYRB II holds a 4-1-7 record in the all-time series against Charleston Battery. This will be the second time the two clubs have met this season. The first meeting happened on May 7, with both clubs earning a point from the match. Jake Lacava scored the first goal of the match, while former New York Red Bulls II midfielder Zeiko Lewis tallied the goal for Charleston.

New York currently sits in fourth place of the Atlantic Division with four points, while Charleston is in sixth place with one point.

Following Sunday’s match, NYRB II will return to MSU Soccer Park to take on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Friday, May 28, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. ET.
