HARRISON, N.J. (May 9, 2022) –The New York Red Bulls (5-2-3, 18 pts.) will battle D.C. United (4-5-0, 12 pts.) in the fourth round of the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday, May 10 at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+ and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

This will be the third all-time meeting between New York and D.C. in Open Cup history, with D.C. leading in the series with a 1-2-0 mark. This will be the first meeting in the Open Cup between the two sides since 2009. The Red Bulls won their third-round matchup against Hartford Athletic, 2-1, on April 20. D.C. United defeated Flower City Union, 3-0, in their third-round match with forward Ola Kamara scoring a brace in the game.

The Red Bulls are unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions, outscoring their opponents, 8-3, in those matches. New York are currently 6-0-0 on the road season, which includes a five-game MLS road winning streak to begin their season. The Red Bulls defense has only conceded three goals on the road in MLS, which is tied for the lowest in MLS this season.

New York Captain Aaron Long scored the game-tying goal in the Red Bulls 1-1 draw against Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 7. Long has recorded two goals in his career in the U.S. Open Cup, most recently the game-winning goal in New York’s 2-1 win over Hartford Athletic. He became the 36th player in franchise history to score double-digit goals during their Red Bulls career. Long is currently tied for second in MLS this season in goals scored by active defenders.
