This will be the 25th time the Red Bulls have played in the Open Cup in franchise history. New York have posted an 16-8-0 in opening round matches. Since 2010, the Red Bulls have recorded an 11-1-2 home record in Open Cup play. Defender Cameron Harper tallied two assists in three Open Cup appearances last season.Â
This will be the second-straight year that New York has played D.C. United in the Round of 32 in the Open Cup. The Red Bulls defeated D.C. United, 3-0, at Audi Field last season. Defender John Tolkin and midfielder Luquinhas both scored in the match.
Following Tuesday’s match, New York Red Bulls will host New York City FC at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, May 13 for the Derby. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
