The New York Red Bulls (7-12-8, 29 pts.) head to Yankee Stadium on Saturday, September 16 to face off against rival New York City FC (6-10-12, 30, pts.). This will be the 23rd overall regular season meeting between NYCFC and the Red Bulls, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 11-8-3 mark. The Red Bulls have won both matches against NYCFC this season, with the most recent win coming on August 3 at Red Bull Arena in Leagues Cup Round of 32. New York have posted a 3-6-1 record against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium. Bronx, N.Y. native Omir Fernandez has scored four career goals against NYCFC across all competitions, which includes two goals this season. He scored the game-winning goals for the Red Bulls in both matchups against NYCFC this year. Fernandez also scored the game-winning goal in New York’s last win at Yankee Stadium on September 25, 2021.

New York Red Bulls defender Andrés Reyes has notched one career assist against NYCFC. Reyes ranks in the top 10 of MLS in the following categories: second in interceptions (53), third in aerial duels won (91), and ninth in recoveries (174). The Puerto Tejada, Colombia native has been a part of seven of the club’s nine clean sheets this season.
