This will be the first ever meeting between the Red Bulls and C.F. Monterrey.

Captain Emil Forsberg scored the game-winning goal in New York’s 1-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara, which marked his first career Leagues Cup goal. In three matches outside of MLS regular season this year, Forsberg has scored two goals.
He has recorded seven goal contributions in his last seven appearances across all competitions. The Swedish international is one goal away from tying Sacha Kljestan for most goals scored by a midfielder across all competitions with 22.
Following Sunday’s match, New York will return home to Sports Illustrated Stadium to face FC Juarez in their final Phase One match of the 2025 Leagues Cup on Thursday, August 7.
