This will be the 31st all-time regular season meeting between the Red Bulls and Montreal, with New York holding the advantage with a 15-10-5 mark. New York have earned a result in two of their last three trips to Montreal, including a 2-2 draw in their trip to Stade Saputo last season.

Forward Julian Hall became the youngest goal scorer in franchise history in that match at 16 years, 87 days old, and also became the second youngest goal scorer in MLS history. Montreal has posted a 2-8-5 mark at home this season.

Red Bulls captain Emil Forsberg scored his 10th MLS goal of the season in New York’s match against Portland on Saturday, September 13.

Forsberg tied Amado Guevara (2004) and Lloyd Sam (2015) for sixth place in franchise history for MLS goals scored in a single season by a midfielder. He is one goal shy of tying Clint Mathis for most goals scored by a midfielder in their first two seasons with the club.
