This will be the 47th regular season meeting between New York and Los Angeles, with the Red Bulls holding the series advantage with a 20-18-8 mark. This will be the first time that the Galaxy have played at Sports Illustrated Stadium since 2019.
New York have posted a 3-1-1 mark in their last five home matches against the Galaxy.
This will be the first time the teams have met since the 2024 MLS Cup Final. The Galaxy have posted a 0-4-2 mark on the road this season, after dropping their most recent road contest to Sporting Kansas City, 1-0, on Sunday, May 4.

New York defender Sean Nealis scored in the 2024 MLS Cup Final against the Los Angeles Galaxy, becoming the first defender in franchise history to score in an MLS Cup Final for the club. Nealis is seeking his 133rd career MLS start, which will tie him with Aaron Long for second place in franchise history for the most MLS starts by a defender.
Nealis scored his first goal of the season across all competitions in New York’s 4-1 win over Switchbacks FC on May 6 in the Round of 32 of the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
