This will be the sixth overall regular season meeting between New York and Minnesota, with the series tied with both clubs holding a 2-2-1 mark against the other.
The Red Bulls have won their last four home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium, outscoring their opponents, 14-2, in those matches. New York have acquired 22 points at home this season, which ranks tied for first in MLS with the Columbus Crew.
Minnesota currently ranks third place in the Western Conference and have posted a 4-2-3 mark on the road this season.

Midfielder Mohammed Sofo scored his fifth MLS goal of the season in New York’s 1-1 draw against Toronto FC on Wednesday. Sofo has now recorded eight goals across all competitions this season, which ranks second in the club. The Ghanian midfielder has scored a goal in three of his last five MLS appearances.
Sofo also currently ranks tied for the second most goals scored in MLS for players, who are 21 years old or younger, only behind Real Salt Lake’s Diego Luna.
