The New York Red Bulls kicks off 2025 Leagues Cup campaign with a battle against Chivas Guadalajara on Thursday, July 31 at Sports Illustrated Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and New York Red Bulls Radio presented by Sports Illustrated in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

Coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV begins at 7:30 p.m. ET. Tony Husband will have primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Ross Smith on the English side, while Ramses Sandoval will have the play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Oswaldo Sanchez on the Spanish side.

New York Red Bulls Radio presented by Sports Illustrated begins at 7 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Toyota, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley.

This will be the fifth all-time meeting between the Red Bulls and Chivas Guadalajara, with New York holding the series advantage with a 2-1-1 mark. This will be the first time the clubs have met since the 2018 CONCACAF Champions Cup, where Guadalajara knocked the Red Bulls out of the semifinals.

New York have posted a 5-3-2 mark against Liga MX teams in their franchise history, including a 3-1-2 mark at home. The Red Bulls are unbeaten at home in their last 11 non-MLS regular season competition matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium. This will be New York’s third time featuring in Leagues Cup and have recorded a 2-0-4 mark.

Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel recorded two clean sheets in Leagues Cup 2023, where he was tied for the most in the competition. Coronel has recorded 47 shutouts across all competitions for New York, which ranks second in franchise history.

The Paraguayan international has made five appearances in Leagues Cup and has only conceded three goals. Coronel currently leads MLS in saves this season with 86.

Following Thursday’s match, New York will travel to TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio to battle C.F. Monterrey in their second Phase One match of 2025 Leagues Cup.
