This will be the 26th regular season matchup between New York and NYCFC, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 11-10-4 mark.
New York have posted a 2-2-1 mark in their last five matches against NYCFC across all competitions. The Red Bulls defeated NYCFC, 2-0, at Citi Field in the Eastern Conference Semifinals last season, which was the first-ever postseason matchup between the two clubs. Midfielder Felipe Carballo scored his second goal of the postseason and the game-winning goal.
New York midfielder Cameron Harper recorded his first MLS assist of the season in the Red Bulls’ last match against Nashville SC. Harper has recorded a goal contribution in back-to-back matches, after scoring his first MLS goal of the season in New York’s 7-0 win over LA Galaxy on May 10.
The Roseville, California native has recorded two career goal contributions against NYCFC.
