HARRISON, N.J. (July 5, 2019) –The New York Red Bulls (8-7-4, 28 pts) and  New York City FC (7-2-8, 29 pts) clash on Sunday evening for a nationally televised New York Derby match at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. EST with coverage on FS1, FOX Sports Go, and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.


New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 5:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will have Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 6 p.m.




New York bounced back from 4-0 road loss at Houston with a 3-3 draw at Atlanta to secure a crucial road point. The Red Bulls own a 3-2-2 mark in league play following a loss with a plus-three goal differential (13 GF, 10 GA).


Sunday’s match between the Red Bulls and NYCFC will be the 13th meeting between the two New York clubs. The Red Bulls are unbeaten at Red Bull Arena in the last four league matches (4-0-1) and own a 4-1-1 at the Fortress against New York City. The Red Bulls have outscored NYCFC, 13-5, in six previous matches at RBA. The Red Bulls and New York City split the season series last year, 1-1-1, with RBNY taking the series on aggregate, 5-2.


With Aaron Long out for international duty and Tim Parker in and out of the lineup due to injury, Egyptian defender Amro Tarek has stepped up during their absences. Tarek, who was acquired from Orlando City in an offseason trade, has started the last 12 league matches to help New York to a 7-3-2 mark with four clean sheets. He has also helped on the offensive end, tallying a goal and an assist during the stretch.


New York returns to the road for the next two matches, beginning with a mid-week matchup at Toronto on Wednesday. Wednesday’s match is set for 8 p.m. EST with coverage on MSG, MSG Go, TSN and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
