HARRISON, N.J. (August 23, 2019) – The New York Red Bulls (12-10-5, 41 pts) wrap up Rivalry Week, presented by Heineken, with a quick trip to Yankee Stadium to face NYCFC (12-5-8, 44 pts) on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EST with coverage on ESPN2 and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.


New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 6:30 p.m.




Saturday’s match between the Red Bulls and NYCFC will be the 14th meeting between the two New York clubs. The Red Bulls aim to buck their winless trend at Yankee Stadium as they sit 0-3-1 in their last four meetings. Three of the last four meetings at Yankee Stadium have been decided by one goal or less The Red Bulls will look to win their fourth New York Derby series as they won the first leg, 2-1 at Red Bull Arena on July 14.


New York has played in some tight matches this year, competing in 13 one-goal games. The Red Bulls are 6-7-0 in one-goal matches and are tied for the fifth most wins in MLS with six. New York is 2-3-0 on the road in one-goal matches, winning two of their last three matches by one goal (at Orlando, 1-0; at D.C., 2-1).


Austrian winger Daniel Royer has turned it on since the calendar flipped over to June. Prior to June, Royer had just two goals and four assists through the first 11 matches. Since June 1, Royer has rattled off seven goals and three assists in 13 matches. His seven assists, including four game-winning assists, are both career highs. Royer aims to become just the second player in MLS this season and the first Red Bulls player since Thierry Henry in 2014 to record 10 goals and 10 assists. New York has had four other players accomplish the feat, which includes Henry (2012, '14), Amado Guevara (2004, '05), Clint Mathis (2000) and Eduardo Hurtado (1998).
