Julian Hall scored twice while Emil Forsberg notched another free kick goal as Red Bull New York won, 3-1, over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.

RBNY advance to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 against New York City Football Club. Sports Illustrated Stadium will host the match on a date and time to be determined.

Hall now has seven goals across all competitions in 2026 for Red Bull.

Forsberg's goal was his second free kick goal across all competitons this season.

The win moves the Red Bulls U.S. Open Cup record to 33-24-5 and extends New York’s unbeaten home streak in the competition to 15 straight matches with the side going 11-0-4.

Head Coach Michael Bradley earned his first Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup win in his coaching career.

Forsberg scored his second career Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup goal and his second goal of the season.

The Captain also recorded his second assist of the season.

Hall scored his first and second career Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup goals and has seven goals across all competitions this season.

The forward has six goal contributions in his last four appearances across all competitions.

"He’s been a really, really important player for us," Bradley said. "Many of you guys have heard me say it: It's not just the goals, his ability to lead our press, to set the tone for everybody in terms of how aggressive we can be to step up and go after the other team. The chasing and the strength thing that he does to make the game really, really difficult on the other team, he chases midfielders from behind. Those things go unnoticed."

The 18-year-old Manhattan, N.Y. native scored his second brace of the season across all competitions.

With the win, goalkeeper John McCarthy extends his Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup unbeaten streak to 11 matches, going 7-0-4 in that span.

U.S. Soccer will confirm the time and date of the New York Derby Open Cup Edition at a later date.

"We are really excited," Bradley said "Obviously, I've watched the New York Derby from afar. I was at the game here last season and so I think it speaks for itself in terms of the two clubs and everything that it means when two teams in the same city now play and are ready to go after each other. So, yeah, we already mentioned it a lot before, but we're really excited. Obviously, there's important games and there's work to do between now and then. But for sure, when that game comes around, we will be ready, and we're going to be really excited."

New York will head to Stade Saputo to face off against CF Montreal on Saturday, April 18.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Apple TV in English, Spanish, and French, and Red Bulls Radio in English via the Red Bull New York app and RedBullNewYork.com.
