Red Bull New York fell to Charlotte FC, 2-0, at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Saturday night.
Charlotte scored two quick goals early, and were able to hold off a relentless RBNY attack the rest of the night.
Red Bull New York had 23 shots on the night, but couldn't find the back of the net.Â
"We missed the last pass, the last cross, the last shot and the last dribble," Head Coach Michael Bradley said. "We got into really good spots, but we weren’t quite able to find the decisive bit of quality, speed or execution. That’s certainly something we have to continue working on."
Julian Bazan made his first MLS start, while Mijahir Jiménez made his MLS debut in the match, coming on in the 70th minute.
Adri Mehmeti received two yellow card and will be suspended for the team's next match. Jorge Ruvalcaba and Omar Valencia also recieved yellow cards and will be suspended for the next match due to yellow card accumulation.
Following Saturday’s match, the Red Bulls will host Orlando City SC on Saturday, August 1 at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
