MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: Red Bulls Earn First Win of 2021

The New York Red Bulls earned their first three points of the season against Chicago Fire FC at Red Bull Arena.

After a hard fought first half, the Red Bulls found the back of the net early on the second half from Cristian Cásseres, Jr. Fábio was credited with the assist on the goal.

The first two substitutions of the match were Daniel Royer and Dru Yearwood coming on for Tom Barlow and Frankie Amaya, who made his first start of the season.

In the 64th minute, Caden Clark earned his second goal of the season, after Fábio headed down a cross in the box, and Clark volleyed it home. Fábio earned his first multi-assist match for the club.

Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel recorded four saves and his first shutout of the season. New York as a whole earned their first clean sheet this season.

The final substitutions for New York saw Brian White and Omir Fernandez, who made his season debut, come on for Fábio and Clark.

New York will welcome Toronto FC to Red Bull Arena next week on Saturday, May 8 at 1PM ET on MSG Networks.
