The New York Red Bulls dropped three points in their visit to Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Los Angeles’s Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez scored the night’s first goal early on in the first half.

Seventeen minutes later, defender Andrew Gutman found the equalizer to level the match. The Hinsdale, Illinois native recorded his first goal of the season and his first for the club.

Right before the half, Hernandez scored his second goal of the match to give the Galaxy the lead going into the locker room.

New York started the second half with Dru Yearwood and Kyle Duncan taking the field for Sean Nealis and Florian Valot.

Hernandez recorded his third goal of the match in the 60th minute. Three minutes later, Cristian Cásseres, Jr. pulled one back for Red Bulls. This was the Venezuelan's first goal of the 2021 season.

The Red Bull’s last three substitutions saw Daniel Royer and club debutants Cameron Harper and Frankie Amaya come on for Fábio, Brian White, and Gutman.

New York heads back home to take on Chicago Fire FC at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, May 1st at 1 PM ET on MSG Networks.
