MATCH RECAP, pres. by Provident Bank: Red Bulls Roll to 3-0 Victory, Advance to Open Cup Round of 16

The New York Red Bulls topped D.C. United at Audi Field, 3-0, to advance to the Round of 16 in the 2022 U.S. Open Cup.

Goals from Luquinhas, John Tolkin and Zach Ryan helped New York to the victory. Luquinhas added an assist on Tolkin's goal, while Ryan's came as his first touch of the game.

Aaron Long and Lucas Monzón both were forced to leave the match due to injuries.

A draw to determine Round of 16 hosts and match-ups will be held following the conclusion of Round of 32 play. U.S. Soccer will announce details for the Draw at a later date.

The Red Bulls are now 7-0-0 on the road across all competitions, outscoring opponents 18-3. 

New York extended its current unbeaten streak to six across all matches.

Ryan Meara made his 15th career appearance in the U.S. Open Cup, which is the most by any player in franchise history. 

The goalkeeper recorded his sixth clean sheet and ninth career win in Open Cup play.
