MATCH RECAP, pres. by Toyota: Red Bulls, Inter Miami Split Points

16x9 3

Following a back-and-forth match, Red Bull New York grabbed a point on the road against Inter Miami CF at Nu Stadium in a 2-2 draw.

"I'm really proud of our team, really, really proud of the players, and the way they went after things, you know, it's obviously a really good opponent," Head Coach Michael Bradley said.

Jorge Ruvalcaba and Adri Mehmeti both scored their first MLS goals in the match. Julian Hall assisted both goals.

Ruvalcaba finished off a cross from Hall, who sprinted down the pitch and drew in two defenders. Hall had Ruvalcaba wide open, who smashed home the opening goal of the match.

After Miami drew even right before halftime, they added a second midway through the second half.

RBNY battled back, when Emil Forsberg delivered a free kick to Hall in the box, who played it through to Mehmeti.

"He has really, really good qualities as a nine, in terms of his ability to score goals, his ability to set up goals," Bradley said of Hall. "The work that he does in terms of helping us press, and helping us chase, and helping make sure that the other team has no time to do what they want. That sends such a clear and strong signal to the rest of our group in terms of how can we close the space behind him and where is the next play going so we can be on top of that?"

Ethan Horvath made five saves on the night, including denying Lionel Messi in stoppage time off a dangerous free kick opportunity.

"I mean coming here, it's not easy to pick up points, and you know, I'm just really proud of the team for pushing into the last minute. We fought really hard to get the point on the road.

New York will head back to Sports Illustrated Stadium to face off against defending USL Championship winners Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Wednesday, April 15 in the Round of 32 of the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on Paramount+ and Red Bulls Radio in English via the Red Bull New York app and RedBullNewYork.com.
