Before Monday Night Football kicks off in the Medowlands, let’s remember MetroStar Alexi Lalas back in his playing days at old Giants Stadium.
Lalas’ first goal as a MetroStar gave his new team its first victory of the season 1-0 over the Chicago Fire tonight before a crowd of 24,661 at Soldier Field.
Lalas spent the 1998 season with the MetroStars before being traded, along with Tony Meola, to the Kansas City Wizards for Mark Chung and Mike Ammann on January 28, 1999.
