The New York Red Bulls are closing in on a new assistant coach, Head Coach Jesse Marsch said on Wednesday.
Former assistant coach Denis Hamlett was recently promoted to the team’s Sporting Director.
Marsch said that the team has come to a decision on the next assistant, but isn’t ready to name the person yet.
“We’re not ready to announce it yet, but hopeful the next couple weeks that it all becomes clear and that we get him here as quickly as possible,” Marsch said.
Chris Armas is the team’s only current assistant coach, with Preston Burpo handling the role of goalkeepers coach.
