HARRISON, N.J. (June 8, 2024) – The New York Red Bulls have added NYRB II midfielder Mohammed Sofo and defender Omar Valencia on short-term agreements ahead of New York’s match against New England Revolution, the club announced today.
Sofo, 19, has made 23 appearances for NYRB II over the last two seasons. He has recorded three goals and six assists in his time with the club. This season, he has tallied six assists, which ranks tied for first in MLS NEXT Pro. Across all competitions, Sofo has recorded three goals and six assists, which includes goals in both of NYRB II’s Open Cup matches this season.
Valencia, 20, has made 30 appearances for NYRB II over his three seasons with the club. The defender has made 10 appearances this season with one assist, which he recorded in a 3-2 win over FC Cincinnati 2 on March 28.
The players will be available for the Red Bulls’ regular season match today against New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. ET.
