New York Red Bulls’ Gideon Baah Undergoes Successful Surgery

HARRISON, N.J. (July 12, 2016) – New York Red Bulls center back Gideon Baah had successful surgery on Monday evening to repair a fractured left tibia. The surgery was performed by Red Bulls team physician Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Baah left Sunday’s game against the Portland Timbers with injury in the 22nd minute. He will miss the remainder of the 2016 MLS season.

The Accra, Ghana, native was signed by the Red Bulls ahead of the 2016 season. Baah joined New York from HJK Helsinki in the Finnish league. He made nine MLS appearances this season, including six starts, and scored two goals. ​
