New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Carlos Coronel has been selected to the Paraguay National Team roster for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches.
Coronel, 28, is in his fifth season with the Red Bulls, where he has made 155 career MLS appearances with the club and has posted 44 shutouts. This season, Coronel has posted 89 saves, which ranks tied for fourth in MLS, and he has earned nine shutouts, which ranks tied for second in MLS. The goalkeeper has earned 61 career MLS victories with New York, which ranks second in franchise history.
The goalkeeper has made nine appearances for the Paraguay National Team. Coronel has posted five shutouts for Paraguay, including in his debut against Peru on September 7, 2023.
Coronel and Paraguay will participate in two 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches during the upcoming camp. They will first take on Ecuador at Defensores del Chaco Stadium on September 4 and then they will face off against Peru at Estadio Nacional de Lima on September 9.
