New York Red Bulls Know Real Salt Lake Will Come Out Swinging

The New York Red Bulls are riding high -- but know Real Salt Lake are going to come out swinging.

"Going to Salt Lake is never easy," Head Coach Jesse Marsch said. "It is a good team and we are going to have to be prepared and be at our best to find a way to get points out of that game. That will be the focus and I think our guys are ready to go.”

Salt Lake is 0-1-1 on the year and coming off a 5-1 loss at home to LAFC.

"It is never easy when you play a team after they have been beaten pretty good because they are more prepared for the next match, but we will be ready too," Marsch said.

New York is expecting RSL to be firing on all cylinders at home.

“They are a team that, going into the season, emphasizes their attacking pieces that they have and how dangerous they can be," Tyler Adams said.

And despite the Red Bulls' great start to the season, the club isn't going to get complacent.

"We have a good team and we know that we are a good team, but now its going out each and every day and proving to other teams around the league that we are one of the teams that are going to compete for MLS Cup this year," Adams said.

The Red Bulls have drawn and won on the road in Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League play so far this year.

“Whenever you go on the road, in this league, everything with the travel and the environment, it is not easy," Marsch said. "We will have to be good, we will have to be sharp, we will have to execute our gameplan and make sure we find a way to manage the game appropriately. I think our team is in a good place.”

Connor Lade put it succinctly.

“I think we are in a good way right now, and we have to keep capitalizing on this chemistry that we have built throughout our preseason," Lade said. "You know we worked really hard all preseason to make sure that the guys that we brought in were brought up to speed, that the guys who have been here are taking on bigger roles. We are just really happy that with the start so far, but at the same time we can’t just be happy about ourselves right now and be complacent, we have to keep pushing and get better as the season progresses.”
