New York Red Bulls Maintain Momentum With 2-1 Win Against Copa Sudamericana Champion Independiente del Valle

Kaku & Jørgensen

The New York Red Bulls achieved their third consecutive preseason win after defeating Independiente del Valle 2-1 at RBNY Training Facility.

Mathias Jørgensen and Kaku scored the goals for Chris Armas’ men, while Dani Nieto netted the Ecuadorian’s side only goal.

The starting line-up to start the game included Ryan Meara, Tim Parker, Amro Tarek, Rece Buckmaster, John Tolkin, Marc Rzatkowski, Sean Davis, Daniel Royer, Florian Valot, Omir Fernandez and Brian White.

Meara would end up being the only player to go the full 90, providing important saves throughout the match.

Even though Kaku only participated during the last 35 minutes of the match, it proved to be enough time for him to get his first goal and assist of the preseason. Meanwhile, Jørgensen scored his first goal of the current preseason.

Other players who saw playing time in the second half included Tom Barlow, Patrick Seagrist, Roy Boateng, Jared Stroud, Alex Muyl, Christopher Lema and Sean Nealis.
