New York’s Five Biggest Games of the 2018 MLS Season

RBA Goal Celebration

With the 2018 MLS season schedule revealed, here are five of the biggest matches on the New York Red Bulls’ schedule this season...

NYCFC - Saturday, May 5 - 2 PM

In the first New York Derby of the new season, the Red Bulls aim to prove New York is Red as they renew their rivalry against NYCFC.

The clubs will face off three times this season, with the May 5 matchup marking the lone derby match at Red Bull Arena in 2018.

@ Toronto FC - Sunday, July 1 - 4:30 PM

New York returns to BMO Field for the first time since their postseason elimination last year on July 1 against defending MLS Cup champions, Toronto FC.

The Red Bulls will look to flip the script on TFC this time in what would be a massive midseason away victory for the club.

Sporting KC - Sunday, July 14 - 7 PM

After falling to Sporting KC in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final, this one is likely circled on the Red Bulls’ calendar.

New York will be looking for three points for the first time since 2014 against SKC to exact some revenge at home.

@ D.C. United - Wednesday, July 25 - 7:30 PM

Making their first visit to D.C.'s new digs, the Red Bulls will look to bust up the party at Audi Field in only the second game in the new arena.

The Red Bulls went 2-0-1 against United in 2017, including closing out R.F.K. Stadium with a 2-1 road win.

Orlando City SC - Sunday, October 28 - 4:30 PM

In the MLS regular season finale, New York takes on former captain Sacha Kljestan and Orlando City SC.

In a game filled with storylines and likely playoff implications, this lines up to be a must-see match on MLS Decision Day.
