The RDS Fall Girls Invitational made history this year, celebrating its inaugural edition on October 17th and 18th at the RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center in Morristown, NJ. This first-ever Girls Invitational brought together talented U10 and U11 players for an invite-only competition that stayed true to the RDS mission, as a developmental event focused on growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a genuine love of the game.
Saturday brought northeastern fall conditions with overcast skies and a steady wind. However, the cool conditions provided the perfect backdrop for a day of exciting competition, determination, and teamwork. On Sunday, clouds gave way to clear blue skies and a beautiful sunny day, which set the scene as the players continued to showcase their technical ability, creativity, and passion for the game. Throughout both days, the players embraced the challenge, while parents and spectators created a fabulous atmosphere, filling the facility with enthusiasm, encouragement, and support for every team on the field.
Teams from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Canada came together for this special inaugural event, representing a diverse and talented group of clubs: Chelsea Piers, FC Copa, PDA, Penn Fusion, Success Academy, TSF, Union County FC, Vaughan SC, and Westfield SA. The level of play, positive energy, and camaraderie on display throughout the weekend made the first RDS Fall Girls Invitational a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
As with previous RDS Invitationals, the focus remained firmly on player development rather than results. No official standings or scores were kept, allowing the players to compete in a supportive environment where learning, creativity, teamwork, and sportsmanship took center stage. The event provided an excellent opportunity for young players to challenge themselves, learn from one another, and celebrate the game alongside peers from across the region and beyond.
Following each match, coaches selected two standout players from the opposing team who impressed through their effort, ability, attitude, or sportsmanship, earning points toward their club's MVP honors. The weekend's achievements and individual recognition are reflected in the 2026 RDS Fall Girls Invitational Honor Roll, celebrating players whose performances and contributions stood out throughout the event.
Red Bull New York RDS extends its sincere thanks to all participating clubs, players, coaches, parents, and spectators for helping make this inaugural Girls Invitational such a tremendous success. The enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and atmosphere created over the two days made it a wonderful celebration of girls' youth soccer and an exciting new addition to the RDS Invitational calendar.
