The RDS Spring Invitational, now in its sixth year, was held at the Red Bulls Training Facility in Whippany, NJ on the weekend of May 11th – 12th. As is customary, the tournament included both the U10 and U11 age groups, continuing its tradition of being an invite-only event with no registration fees. The U11 teams competed under beautiful skies on Saturday in what must have been the best weather day of the year. The football on the pitch matched the occasion with all the players displaying no lack of skill, technique, and physical acumen. On Sunday, the weather wasn’t as cooperative for the U10s, but the event was still a Mother’s Day treat for the moms in attendance.

A total of seventeen teams from various clubs in the area, including the Red Bulls Pre-Academy teams, competed with admirable integrity and sportsmanship. As always, there were no official standings, as the focus was on promoting player development and teamwork rather than results.

After each game, coaches selected two players from the opposing team who displayed exceptional performance, effort, or sportsmanship, earning points toward the MVP award for their respective teams. On June 29th, all RDS Invitational MVPs will be recognized on the field at Red Bull Arena during the New York Red Bulls vs DC United MLS match.

The New York Red Bulls RDS & Pre-Academy would like to express their gratitude to the following participating clubs, and their families, for creating a positive and enjoyable environment for the players.
