HARRISON, N.J. (September 9, 2026) – Red Bull New York have added RBNY II winger Dennis Nelich and midfielder Sekou Kone on short-term agreement ahead of club’s regular season match against LAFC.
Nelich, 18, is in his second season with Red Bull New York II after making his MLS NEXT Pro debut on March 17, 2025 against Philadelphia Union II. The winger also featured in the club’s penalty kick shootout win against Colorado Rapids 2 in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final, subbing into the match in the 113th minute.
This season, the 18-year-old has scored seven goals and added six assists in 23 matches in MLS NEXT Pro play. Nelich became the second-youngest player in club history to record a hat-trick at 18 years and 117 days old in RBNY II’s 5-0 victory over Union II on June 28. The performance earned the winger MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Matchweek 17.
The winger also was named MLS NEXT Pro Rising Star of Matchweek 9 after scoring the match winning goal in New York’s 2-1 victory over Philadelphia Union II on May 3.
Kone, 19 is in his first season with Red Bull New York II and made his MLS NEXT Pro debut in New York’s 4-2 victory over Columbus Crew 2 on March 1. The midfielder made 17 appearances and recorded his first career MLS NEXT Pro assist on July 19 against CT United.
Nelich and Kone will be available for New York’s MLS regular season match today against LAFC.
