Red Bull New York have loaned defender Marcelo Morales to Universidad de Chile for a one-year loan with an option to purchase, the club announced today.
“We are wishing Marcelo the best of luck in this next step and hope to see him continue his progress,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman.
Morales, 22, spent last season with New York, where he made four MLS appearances. He made his MLS debut on September 13, 2025, against Portland Timbers. Morales also registered his first career assist for the first team in a 1-1 draw against FC Juarez in the 2025 Leagues Cup.
The Santiago, Chile native will return to Universidad de Chile after spending four years with the club. He made 110 appearances, where he tallied 16 assists. He helped the club win their sixth Copa Chile title in 2024.
