HARRISON, N.J. (July 29, 2026) – Red Bull New York have loaned goalkeeper Aidan Stokes to Brentford FC through June 30, 2027, the club announced today.
“Aidan has demonstrated tremendous growth over the past year, and this loan move provides an excellent opportunity for him to continue his development in a new and challenging environment,” said Head of Sport Julian de Guzman. “We believe this experience in England will be invaluable to his progression as a goalkeeper and as a young professional. We’re excited to follow his journey and will support him every step of the way.”
Stokes, 18 has spent the last three seasons with Red Bull New York II in MLS NEXT Pro where he’s made 51 appearances. The goalkeeper made his MLS NEXT Pro debut on April 21, 2024 against Philadelphia Union II. Last season he earned May MLS NEXT Pro Keeper of the Month after making five starts, recording 13 saves, two clean sheets as well as three penalty kick saves in a 10-round shootout against Carolina Core FC on May 4, 2025. The Homegrown talent also made his MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs debut in a 5-1 victory over Carolina on October 19, 2025.
On the international stage, the Totowa, N.J. native most recently was called into the U-19 USYNT in June for two friendly matches against Japan at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center. Previously he has represented the USYNT at the U-18, U-17 and U-15 levels making a total of 13 appearances including four starts for the U-17 USYNT at the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2025.
Stokes has made five appearances for U-16 Wales, making his debut on November 11, 2023. He has one appearance with U-17 England with his debut taking place on November 18, 2024 against Belgium.
The goalkeeper is a product of the Red Bulls Academy and was the starting goalkeeper of the 2023 U-15 squad that won MLS NEXT Cup.
