HARRISON, N.J. (September 19, 2026) – Red Bull New York Midfielder Ronald Donkor has been named to the Ghana National Team roster for their upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers, the federation announced on September 18.
Donkor, 21, has received his first senior team call up and will be seeking his first career appearance for Ghana. This season, Donkor has recorded two goals and six assists in 23 appearances for the Red Bulls. He has set new single season career-high’s in games played, games started (23), minutes played (1,993), goals (2), and assists (6). The midfielder was most recently named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 26 after scoring the game-winning goal in New York’s 1-0 win over Columbus Crew on September 12. Â
Donkor and Ghana will participate in their first two African Cup of Nations qualifiers during this FIFA International window. First, they will face off against Ivory Coast on Thursday, September 24 with kickoff set for 3 p.m. ET. Then, they will take on Gambia on Tuesday, September 29, with kickoff set for 12 p.m. ET.
