In the club's ongoing effort to keep you, the supporters of the club, as up to date as possible with what is going on with the first team and beyond, below in a weekly update on how the Red Bull Academy products are fairing playing for their respective collegiate sides. Academy products are translating the success they had in the Academy system to the collegiate level. Below is the final update for 2010.
Overall, there are 37 Academy products playing collegiate soccer, representing 18 Universities, incuding several in the national polls.
Dylan Mencia – Michigan – The Wolverines’ historic run towards the College Cup ended on December 10 as they lost in the semifinals to #2 Akron. Akron went on to win the NCAA College Cup for the first time. This concluded the best season in Michigan history with the Wolverines compiling a 17-5-3 record and earning their first Big Ten Tournament title. In his freshman campaign, Mencia had four shots, six shots on goal, and one assist.
