HARRISON, N.J. (March 24, 2026) – Red Bulls Academy U-15s and U-16s set to participate in the 2026 Generation adidas Cup at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from March 27 to April 4.
The competition will consist of 80 boys teams that will be split evenly at the U-15 and U16 age groups. Each age group will have forty teams organized into 10 groups of four. 16 teams will advance to the single-elimination championship bracket, comprising the 10 group winners and the top six second-place finishers.Â
All matches will be 60 minutes long with two 30-minute halves. The championship match will be extended to a 70-minute match. All matches that are tied at the end of regulation will go directly to a penalty kick shootout.Â
Through nine MLS NEXT matches, the U-15s are fourth in the Northeast Division g going 4-5-0 for 12 points. The side has the highest goals per match in the group averaging 2.33 per match.Â
The U-16s are third in the Northeast Division through 12 MLS NEXT matches. The side is 7-5-0 for 21 points and has the fourth-most goals scored per match of all Pro Player Pathway clubs with 2.75 per game. The side is unbeaten in six of their last seven matches, including three consecutive victories at MLS NEXT Fest in December by a margin of 13-4.Â
The U-15s were drawn into Group A and will kick off play on March 27 at 9:30 a.m. ET when they face Atlanta United. After, they’ll face Portland Timbers on March 28 at 12 p.m. ET. The club will complete group play against Dutch side RSC Anderlecht on March 29 at 9 a.m. ET.
The U-16s will play in Group B and start things off against Orlando City SC on March 27 at 2 p.m. ET. New York will face off against Seattle Sounders on March 28 at 2 p.m. ET. The group will wrap up play against Panamanian side CAI de la Chorrera on March 29 at 2 p.m. ET.Â
