Red Bulls Academy Update: June 13

Red Bulls U-18’s Cruise Over Met Oval: The Red Bulls earned a convincing 6-0 win over Met Oval on Saturday. The Red Bulls started the game quickly by scoring two goals in the first 10 minutes. Brandon Allen opened the scoring in the 3rd minute when he converted a pass from Paul Ehrenworth. Then, in the 8th minute, Scotty Thomsen doubled the lead after finishing from a Konrad Plewa pass. The Red Bulls could not build on their lead until after the half. However, in the 2nd half they played some brilliant attacking soccer. In the 62nd minute, Allen blasted in a pass from Antonio Matarazzo and then completed his hat trick in then 70th minute when he converted from Kyle McCord. The Red Bulls made the score 5-0 in the 77th minute when Kyle McCord had a neat finish from Oscar Gonzalez and the scoring was completed in the 89th minute when Scotty Thomsen scored his 2nd goal of the game from another Oscar Gonzalez pass. “This was a good win for us today. We had a completely different back four today and they did a good job limiting the chances of Met Oval to enable us to get the shutout. And Keith (Cardona) made a brilliant save late in the game to preserve the shutout” stated U18 midfielder Thomsen.


U-16s defeat Met Oval 7-0: The Red Bulls U-16 team defeated Met Oval this Saturday by a 7-0 score. The Red Bulls were paced by Eric Lagg, who scored two goal and added two assists. The Red Bulls also got goals from Torben Halvorsen, Arun Basuljevic, Amando Moreno, Adam Najem and Freddy Elliot. Max Brown was in goal for the shutout victory.
