The New York Red Bulls announced that the contract for head coach Hans Backe, which expires at the end of the year, will not be extended.
“We want to thank Hans for his work over the past three years and wish him the best of luck in the future,” said Global Sporting Director of Red Bull Soccer Gerard Houllier.
Mike Petke will coach the club on an interim basis.
Assistant coach Jan Halvor Halvorsen’s contract was also not extended.
