Red Bulls Complete 11th Annual "11 Days of Service" Community Initiative

Harrison, NJ (October 3, 2023) – For the 11th year, the New York Red Bulls have completed their month-long “11 Days of Service,” a month-long community initiative born out of September 11 – the national day of service and remembrance. Players, front office staff, club supporters and marketing & community partners participated in several different community activations as a tribute to the victims and survivors from the attacks of September 11, 2001.

“With the completion of our 11th year of ‘11 Days of Service,’ our entire organization is extremely proud of the 150 volunteers and over 800 hours of community service achieved in September,” said Elisa Padilla, Chief Marketing Officer, New York Red Bulls. “We are once again deeply honored to have the opportunity make an impact with, and for, our neighbors to honor the spirit of the heroes and families from the tragic events of 9/11.”

The following “11 Days of Service” events took place in September:

GRACE Distribution Day in Summit, NJ

Volunteers distributed meal packs to underserved families in the community

Harrison Fire Department in Harrison, NJ

Volunteers brought and served lunch to members of the fire department

Intrepid 9/11 Day on The Intrepid in Manhattan, NY

Volunteers teamed up with military veterans and first responders to pack as many healthy, non-perishable meals for food-insecure individuals

Mahatma Gandhi School – PS 23 in Jersey City, NJ

Volunteers, including members of marketing partner Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ, painted murals to brighten up spaces at the elementary school

Capitanes del Futuro at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ

Four Hispanic students shadowed Red Bulls’ social media and video content teams during the club’s Noche Latina night.  Students also had opportunity to meet Captain Sean Nealis and other members of the team.

Hinton Park in Queens, NY

Volunteers, including members of marketing partner Sherwin-Williams, refreshed the neighborhood park by providing the worn-down cement bleachers with a fresh coat of Sherwin-Williams paint

Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ

Volunteers, including members of marketing partner Audi, cleaned, mulched and planted to beautify the grounds at Liberty State Park

Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital located in Hackensack, NJ

Players including John Tolkin and Daniel Edelman visited pediatric cancer patients at marketing partner Hackensack Meridian Health’s Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital

Hospital for Special Surgery located in Manhattan, NY

Players Frankie Amaya and Serge Ngoma visited pediatric cancer patients at marketing partner Hospital for Special Surgery

Community Food Bank in Hillside, NJ

Volunteers, including members of marketing partner QuickChek, sorted food and packed meal boxes for those underserved neighbors

Veteran Hope Packs at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ

Club supporters and front office staff assembled backpacks for homeless veterans filled with necessities such as hygiene products and snacks accompanied with an inspirational note
