As the New York Red Bulls prepare for battle on Sunday against Toronto FC, the team is prepared to be aggressive and play with “nothing to lose.”

“We have nothing to lose at this point,” Tyler Adams said. “We’re going to go out and we have to be aggressive because we know we need a certain scoreline in order to go through, but we know they’re going to be up for the challenge as well.”

After falling 2-1 in the first leg of the series, the Red Bulls’ main takeaway was that they played the game on Toronto’s terms, something they look to turnaround on Sunday.

“We played to their strengths…we weren’t sharp on the ball, we gave so many balls away and we were too slow,” Felipe said. “We know what we did wrong and we know what we need to do better next game in order to get what we want.

“We’re going to play to our strengths, we’re going to put the game on our terms and we’re going to go from there.”

New York realizes the challenge at hand, going into BMO Field needing a multi-goal performance against the record-setting 2017 Supporters’ Shield champions.

However, Adams and the Red Bulls believe it’s all the more reason for the team to throw everything on the line Sunday to get the win.

“Toronto’s one of the best teams in MLS history…their attackers are very good and they could punish us if we do make mistakes,” Adams said. “We have to be more aggressive heading into Toronto.

“We know that if we play our game as a team and stick together, good things will come from it.”
