HARRISON, NJ – The New York Red Bulls announced today that it has traded midfielder Austin da Luz to D.C. United as part of the deal which saw New York acquire an international spot from United last Saturday.
Da Luz played in seven regular season games in 2011, making four starts and notching a goal and an assist. The second-year player was drafted in the first round (14th overall) in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft out of Wake Forest University. He did not play a regular season match for New York in his rookie year.
