On April 4, 2015, New York Red Bulls II defeated Toronto FC II at Red Bull Arena to earn the club’s first United Soccer League victory, 4-1.
Anatole Abang tallied NYRB II’s first goal in history in the eighth minute, thanks to an assist from Sean Davis. Thirty minutes later, Shawn McLaws doubled the home side’s lead before halftime, 2-0.
Despite Toronto pulling one back on an own goal early in the second stanza, Marius Obekop restored the two-goal lead on a penalty kick in the 75th minute. Finally, Leo Stolz capped off the scoring in the 86th minute, assisted by young Red Bulls academy player Derrick Etienne Jr.
