STARTING XI, pres. by OANDA: Red Bulls, Charlotte Meet in North Carolina

Gustav Berggren will make his first start of the 2026 campaign, slotting into the Starting XI against Charlotte FC on Saturday night.

Head Coach Michael Bradley will see Berggren take the pitch for the first whistle, with Ronald Donkor and Adri Mehmeti looking to control the central midfield.

The Red Bulls have posted a 3-1-1 mark in their last five matches across all competitions against Charlotte.

Julian Hall, Cade Cowell, Jorge Ruvalcaba and Emil Forsberg will push the attack for RBNY, looking for three points for the first time in Charlotte.

New York will be seeking their first career victory at Bank of America Stadium after posting a 0-2-2 mark in four career matches at the venue. 

Ethan Horvath gets the nod in goal, with Matthew Dos Santos, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty and Robert Voloder rounding out the starting squad.

Bradley will have Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Juan Mina, Rafael Mosquera, Andy Rojas, Tanner Rosborough, Mohammed Sofo, Tim Parker and Omar Valencia available off the bench. John McCarthy will be the backup goalkeeper.

Choupo-Moting scored his first MLS goal of the season in New York’s 1-1 draw against Toronto FC on March 14. His 98th minute goal to equalize the match was the fifth-latest goal scored during a regular season match in club history. The forward has now scored 18 career MLS goals for New Yokrk. Choupo-Moting has scored two career goals in two career matches against Charlotte FC.

Justin Che, Dylan Nealis, Cameron Harper and A.J. Marcucci remain sidelined.
