Get to know who the Red Bulls will be playing in their upcoming matchup with The Other Side:

How They’re Doing

Coming off of a historic season, where they finished second in the western conference and made it to the conference championship, Austin has come back down to earth in 2023.

They have hit the skids of late, going winless in their last seven matches, including two home losses in the Leagues Cup to Mazatlan FC and FC Juarez.

Austin currently sits in 12th place in the western conference, three points behind the playoff line.

Head-to-Head History

The history between the two clubs is a short one, but an exciting one, with the only matchup coming in 2022. It was a thrilling 4-3 match at Q2 Stadium that saw goals from Tom Barlow, Cameron Harper, Serge Ngoma and Dru Yearwood.

Wednesday will be Austin’s first trip to Red Bull Arena.

Player to watch – Forward Sebastián Driussi

Since joining Austin FC, Driussi has been a constant staple in their attack.

In 80 total appearances, Driussi has tallied 41 goals and 12 assists, including 22 goals in Austin’s historic 2022 season.

He came to MLS from Russia’s Zenit Saint Petersburg, where he scored 25 teams across four seasons.

Driussi made a jump to the professional level at 17-years-old in 2013, playing until 2017 with Argentina’s most successful club, River Plate.
